October 6th Update

Now that the fall season is here OVSC has been busy getting ready for the upcoming season. First up is the NHSA Grass Drags on October 7,8,9 at Peterson Farm in Freemont, NH. Several OVSC members will be at the drags this weekend working the event. This event has become our largest fundraiser. NHSA pays the club $10 per person per hour. Thanks to all that are volunteering their time over the holiday weekend!

50' Steel Bridge that was finished up this summer.

As some of you know, we have been building a few new bridges out on the Bolles Trail in Wonalancet to facilitate getting our larger groomers out in that area. Last year we started a 50′ steel bridge to got completed this summer. We have one more 50′ steel bridge to build in order to complete this project. The steel has been delivered and we need your help! We will be starting this bridge on Sunday October 16th. If we can’t muster up enough help for 11/16/11 we may need to push the work party back to the following weekend. If you can attend please call Dave Bowles at 603-323-7353 or email the club at email@ossipeevalleysnowmobileclub.com

We have also received and installed the new webcam! We will be fine tuning it over the next couple of months. Thanks to all that donated to the webcam fund!

Coming up in November we have our annual Snowmobile Swap meet and Vintage Snowmobile Show on November 26th at Canoe King on Rte 16 in Tamworth. A few weeks after that we have our annual snowmobile safety call on December 3rd. Places fill up quickly for the safety call so please email the club if you would like to attend.

  1. A big thank you to George & Marie Kaye who put in over five long days at the event, Suzanne Christenbury who worked all day & night Friday, Saturday & Sunday and Dave Bowles who put in an extremely long day Friday. Between the four of them they easily raised well over $2000 for the Club making it our biggest fundraiser to date! At ten dollars per hour per volunteer we hope to get five or six more members involved next year to double our money. All will tell you that they had a blast at the event, and what a way to get most of our fund raising out of the way so we can better enjoy winter when it arrives. Thanks guys & gals!
